Ramblewood Golf Camps
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Is there a registration deadline?
A: You are welcome to register up to the starting date of your desired session, however, the deadline is March 31st.
Q: What does a basic day consist of at Ramblewood Golf Camps?
A: Beginners will start each morning with a daily golf lesson. Instruction will focus on basic golf skills. This may take place on the putting green, chipping green, sand bunker or on the course. Then they will be given opportunities to experience actual course play in small groups.
Intermediates will go out on the course each morning. These campers will play in small groups with their peers while receiving lessons in course management and golf etiquette. Intermediate instruction will focus on the individual golfer’s skill level and abilities.
We have the ability to use the Ramblewood Swim Club during the last hour of camp each day for both levels of our camps. We normally do not use the pools, but occasionally, extreme weather conditions (heat) may allow us to do so.
Q: Where and when are the drop-off and pick-up times for each camp?
A: All campers will meet at the putting green behind the main building each morning. Campers should be dropped off between 8:20 am and 8:30 am each morning, and picked up between 12:15 pm and 12:30 pm each afternoon.
Q: Do you provide childcare services?
A: No, parents must drop off their children no earlier than 8:15 each morning and pick up their children no later than 12:30 each afternoon.
Q: What types of groups are the campers placed in?
A: There are two camps during each session (Beginner and Intermediate). Campers will be placed in these camps based on prior golf experience. All attempts will be made to assemble “like-age groups” within each session.
Q: What qualifications must a camper have to participate in the Intermediate camp?
A: Intermediate campers must possess course-play experience. They should be capable of playing a minimum of nine holes while keeping the necessary pace of play. It is recommended that intermediate golfers be capable of shooting under 120 on an eighteen-hole course. All intermediate campers must arrive each morning with their own golf clubs, bags, balls, tees and necessary equipment. Bringing pull carts is recommended. Otherwise, intermediate campers will be required to carry their own bags each day.
Q: Is lunch provided each day?
A: No, campers are encouraged to bring bag lunches or money for snacks and drinks each day.
Q: Do Beginner campers need to bring equipment?
A: No, Beginner golfers are welcome to bring their own clubs and equipment, but all necessary equipment will be provided. Water will be provided, but campers are more than welcome to bring their own water bottles. Beginner golfers should keep their bags as light as possible. We walk the course each day and golfers are expected to carry their own equipment.
Q: What should campers wear each day?
A: Campers are encouraged to wear shorts, t-shirts, socks and sneakers. Bathing suits may be worn, but campers will also be given the opportunity to change if we decide to use the pool (We will most likely give advance notice if we plan to use the pool). It is also recommended that campers bring their own towels, use sun block, wear hats and sunglasses, and take any necessary steps to protect against sunburn.
Q: What accommodations do you provide in the case of inclement weather?
A: We have never cancelled a camp day or session. We continue to play in light rain and use the indoor facilities during heavy rain or storms. Inside we provide movies, games, and indoor lessons for all campers. If camp is going to be cancelled on a specific day, a message will be left at the Ramblewood Proshop at least one hour before our start time.
Q: Whom can I contact for further information?
